“I noticed that the vast majority, if not all, in the african-american college students at my university commencement wore a particular type of stole. I did a some of investigation and identified out that its known as a Kente stole. However, I was questioning if any you knew the historical background and purpose in the stole? Also, do graduates purchase the stole for themselves or is it given by the Office of Minority Pupil Affairs? I used to be baffled as for the background, objective, and distribution with the stole since I noticed from my friend’s recent 2010 graduation, that nearly everybody also had around the same Kente stole, such as non-minority professors and students. Can anyone tell me far more about the Kente stole? “
